When the curl_init function is called without an internet connection, it causes a memory leak, which causes the PHP interpreter to crash.

Test script:
---------------
// begin. IMPORTANT: this must be execute WITHOUT an internet connection.
$ch = curl_init();
// end

Expected result:
----------------
The FALSE.

Actual result:
--------------
PHP interpreter crashes due to memory leak.

PHP doesn't crash simply because there's a memory leak.

How about giving some more information about what you discovered? Memory leak where? How did you determine that? Got a crash dump or backtrace?
