I found this issue on my phpmyadmin site. 

Deprecation Notice in ./libraries/common.inc.php#261
 Function get_magic_quotes_gpc() is deprecated

and how is that a php issue?

get_magic_quotes_gpc() shoul dnot be used for many years now because magic_quotes don#t exist for very long time

Now that you've upgraded PHP, consider upgrading PHPMyAdmin to a version that is less than four years old as well.
