$amount = 40.12;

$amount *= 100;
$val = ($amount % 100);
echo $val;

This is showing mod as 11 instead of 12

Test script:
---------------
$amount = 40.12;

$amount *= 100;
$val = ($amount % 100);
echo $val; // showing 11 instead of 12


Expected result:
----------------
12

Actual result:
--------------
11

Floating point values have a limited precision. Hence a value might
not have the same string representation after any processing. That also
includes writing a floating point value in your script and directly
printing it without any mathematical operations.
