if I don't have in php.ini the php_ftp.dll extension set,
when I do an SQL query it brings me the string inside the
field of the table.(if the field contains "string" and
the field length is 10 characters, it brings with "string"),
But if i set the php_ftp.dll in the php.ini, the result
of the SQL query is "string ", all the 10 characters

How can I fix this problem?

I don't really see any reasons how could
having php_ftp.dll enabled in php.ini affect this.

Could you include a complete but short reproducing
script into this bug report?

No feedback. And old version of PHP, upgrade first.
