In the last paragraph, the escaped characters are listed: #&;`|*?~<>^()[]{}$\

Unfortunately, this is a special ligature in the font "Fira Sans" and is rendered as a single, cursive & character.

"version/build 4.100:
_ re-introduce curly ampersand in Italic; also added it in Roman. 
Accessible via .ss03 OR type ‚ #& ’ (replacement via calt feature)"

That means, the # character will not be displayed for modern browsers, leading to confusion if it is escaped. If you copy the characters it will be okay.

To remedy this, simply change the order of the characters, e.g. &#;`|... works fine.

This bug has been fixed in the documentation's XML sources. Since the
online and downloadable versions of the documentation need some time
to get updated, we would like to ask you to be a bit patient.
