Moved from <https://github.com/libgd/libgd/issues/285>, as the
request concerns downstream only.

Would it be possible to add a way for GD to export pixels for use
in userland? There is already imagecolorat and imagesetpixel but
it can be slow when iterating over medium to large images. An API
similar to Imagick::exportImagePixels/importImagePixels would work
just fine.

This feature requires the RFC process[1] anyway, so I'm closing
