You can set the cookie http header, but no other HTTP header

There are ways to hack adding a header by hacking the user agent string to include a carriage return and other such hacks, but these should not be required.

This can then be used for services that use HTTP based headers for services like authentication or as part of a caching framework, e.g send If-None-Match header to allow services to respond with 304
