Trying to assist a customer in troubleshooting a Windows install (i know... they insisted) I found the PHP.net very hard to navigate.

Documentation was great, but the issues were mainly with Apache not working correctly with PHP.  I had problems finding binaries or ZIPs for Windows and also getting to the bugs page.  I found myself going to google and including `site: php.net` in with my searches just to find what was needed (distribution downloads in one case).

Typing `windows` in search did nothing as the search is primarily geared towards the language, I think.

What do people think about improving the PHP.net site to look and function more like python.org?

I know it was just given a face lift too!

For what it's worth, http://windows.php.net might be a worthy bookmark for you. :)

Initially the search performs against the PHP manual. However on the right hand side is a link that takes your search string and runs it through a site search - https://s3.amazonaws.com/shares.jacobbednarz.com/PHP__Manual_Quick_Reference.png

Perhaps we need to look at a way of:

- Making that link more predominant OR
- Including a section from the site search under the functions section.

I'm going to call this closed, actually, since the downloads page now links to windows.php.net once again.
