Side question: is it possible to propose doc fixes via GitHub pull requests? I can't find the proper repo for the doc on https://github.com/php

It's a pain to have to open a bug for fixing a typo, and that often puts me off...

Your report is misleading - you said that proper word is "seekable" while put "seakable" as expected result. However, I beleviewe that translators will know which one is correct :)

"Side question: is it possible to propose doc fixes via GitHub pull requests? I can't find the proper repo for the doc on https://github.com/php"
No, but you can use our Documentation Online Editor on edit.php.net. We encourage to do it, after you change appropriate file, translators with PHP.net account will be able to accept and merge patch you've submitted :)

My mistake, I mixed up the expected & actual results. They must obviously be understood the other way around!

I will create an edit.php.net account then, thanks for the hint!

To clarify: you don't need an account to use edit.php.net. Just log in anonymously. You can create patches then which will be merged or rejected by people with SVN account.

Obtaining an account for edit.php.net means having account on PHP.net in general, so you have an access to repositories with documentation sources for example. You can of course request such access, but it's the way to long-time contributors.

So if you are interested in traslating PHP Manual into French more regularly, not just fixing single typo, you can follow this instructions: http://doc.php.net/tutorial/ Otherwise, just submit patch anonymously and someone with credentials will merge it.

This bug has been fixed in the documentation's XML sources. Since the
online and downloadable versions of the documentation need some time
to get updated, we would like to ask you to be a bit patient.

Thank you for the report, and for helping us make our documentation better.
