If postmaster isn't running on the server, the http daemon
segfaults when trying to access the db it using pg_connect();

I used the postgresql rpms available from www.postgresql.org.

The psql binary from the postgresql dist. does not segfault when
trying to open a connection to a server that does not exists, so i figure the
problem must be somewhere in the php module.
