Am trying to Configure 32bit PHP5.3.22 in RHEL 6.0 but its throwing the below 
error

checking libxml2 install dir... no
checking for xml2-config path... /usr/bin/xml2-config
checking whether libxml build works... no
configure: error: build test failed. 

where we have already installed

we have all the 32 bit files in /usr/lib/

libxml2.so.2 ,libz.so.1 files also but still its showing error in configuring.

Have you tried --with-libdir=lib and or --libdir=/usr/lib ?

ya, we tried that option also
