I was testing Joomla with K2 and I got this error every time I tried to upload 
something:

php(14200) malloc: *** error for object 0x7fff520566f0: pointer being freed was 
not allocated
*** set a breakpoint in malloc_error_break to debug
Abort trap: 6

The line that is causing the error is:
$f = finfo_open(FILEINFO_MIME, "/usr/share/file/magic");

I asked some friends with the same OS version (w/ PHP 5.3.17/5.3.15) and they all 
have the same problem.

Test script:

php -r 'finfo_open(1040, "/usr/share/file/magic");'
