$a['x'] = &$a;

var_dump(wddx_serialize_vars($a));

$a['x'] = 'foo';

The recursion detection seems to be causing $a to be not an array here, maybe its 
internally a pointer. 

The patch fixes this problem on 5_4 rd24d5b6. The test passes on 5_3.

This bug has been fixed in SVN.

Snapshots of the sources are packaged every three hours; this change
