I get a segmentation fault on described system when using:

echo uuid_create(UUID_TYPE_RANDOM);

This works fine on 32bit version of Ubuntu 9.04 but I get segmentation fault on 64bit version of Ubuntu 9.04.

Reproduce code:

echo uuid_create(UUID_TYPE_RANDOM) . "\n";

Expected result:
I expect to see a new uuid followed by a new line on the console.

Actual result:
user@host:~/pwd$ ./guid theprogram
Segmentation fault
