Description:
------------
The session locking behavior that was introduced in pecl-memcache 3.0.4 is a major behavioral change that may not be wanted in some cases (i.e. highly concurrent pages where absolute consistency is not required).

There should be an option to turn it off.

Agree with this request.

At my work we use memcached as session storage, but the 3.x was giving us trouble with our high traffic servers. As a workaround, we reverted to 2.x series just to avoid the session locking issue.

The official bug tracker for PECL/memcache is now at
<https://github.com/websupport-sk/pecl-memcache/issues>.

So, if this is still an issue with either of the current memcache
versions (4 or 8), please file an issue there.
