Downloaded and compiled against libssh2 0.17 on RHEL4 running PHP 5.2.4 and ZendCore.

While attempting anything that calls ssh2 module.

It segfaults.  Zend core is compiled with --disable_debug.  Here is an strace:

$sftp_connection = ssh2_connect("$sftp_server", $sftp_port);
ssh2_auth_password($sftp_connection, "$sftp_user", "$sftp_password");

Recompiled with libssh2 0.17/ssh2 0.11 (source) w/ x86_64 diff/php 5.2.4 and obtain same segfault

the problem might already be fixed. Please download a new
version from

If you are able to reproduce the bug with one of the latest
versions, please change the package version on this bug report
to the version you tested and change the status back to "Open".

Your backtrace file isn't there any more and there's a newer release now. If you have the problem with the newer version, please provide a backtrace.
