When changing the value of a setting (e.g. the last character of the line in the .htaccess file is stripped.

Adding a white space after the last character (i.e. 'r' in the example below) workarounds this problem.

Tested under a clean chroot of Debian GNU/Linux i686 sid with php5 5.2.5-3 and htscanner 0.8.1.

Reproduce code:
php_value foobar

Expected result:
----------------    foobar

Actual result:
--------------    fooba
