Please try using the cvs version (only php_zip.c is affected).

Also note that I do not support external libzip. I should work as the bundled one tries to be an exact copy, but it  contains fixes that are not yet available in a libzip releases, or specific to php. What's the reason to use an external libzip?

Thank you for your bug report. This issue has been fixed
in the latest released version of the package, which you can download at
http://pecl.php.net/get/zip
