I tried to instal PHP with the sequence above:

cd /usr/apache/www/static/apache_1.3.12
./configure --prefix=/usr/apache  \

I didn't find php.ini file. The modules I used was
--with-pgsql    --with-apache=../apache_1.3.12/ --enable-track-vars

Does this problem still persist with more recent version of php (from CVS or http://snaps.php.net) ??

No feedback. Please try php4.0.2 or latest CVS or snapshot from http://snaps.php.net
and reopen this bug report if problem still exists.
