Description:
------------
i think it would be nice if a notice stating
php_version >= 5.3
would be added tot the
prepend parameter

then again, maybe i just should have read stuff better,
i looked over the changelog-notice several times :(

This is what the changelog is for. Adding version information everywhere else
would add too much clutter, which is something we're trying to reduce.

I understand your concern, and our system is probably not ideal. However, I think
either education (teaching people to read changelogs) or some other solution is
the answer.

that's true.
or php should just say for any php-native function that it does not expect that
amount of arguments/parameters, please build that and release it tomorrow :p .

can i close this one now
or is it up to you to close it
or will it stay "won't fix"
   ?

I'd say this particular bug will stay won't fix.

The discussion about changelogs in general is one we'll have to have amongst the
documentation team down the track.
