SQL> describe vsg_student
GROUP_SIZE NUMBER(2)
CURRENT_ADDRESS_ID NUMBER(3)
ADDRESS_COUNT NUMBER(3)

Using the demo from the manual:

The following results are returned

GROUP_SIZE  NUMBER  22
CURRENT_ADDRESS_ID NUMBER 22
ADDRESS_COUNT NUMBER 22

sorry this is what oracle tells us (it's documented somewhere, but i lost the link) NUMBERS will always return 22 as their "size"
