I'm using Solaris 8 Sparc, gcc 2.95, Postgresql 7.0.2, apache 1.3.12. PHP4.0.0

When I configure php4 like this:
./configure  --prefix=/infosys/php4/ --with-apxs=/infosys/apache/bin/apxs
--enable-safe-mode --enable-track-vars --enable-ftp --with-pgsql
--with-openssl=/usr/local/ssl/ --enable-memory-limit --enable-sysvsem
--enable-sysvshm --without-mysql --disable-xml

configure runs, make, and make install are successful, but apache bombs out not finding PQfinish.
It turns out, that the problem is that autoconf does not add -lpq to the list of libraries.
After I add -lpq to EXTRA_LIBS into config_vars.mk, everything is fine. (but it took 2 days for me to figure this out).

Does this problem still persist with more recent version of php (from CVS or http://snaps.php.net) ??

No feedback. Please try php4.0.2 or preferrably latest CVS or snapshot from
http://snaps.php.net/
