I had quite a hard time finding the function to return the type of an 
object. As I have always worked with strictly typed OO programming 
languages, the get_class does what I would expect from gettype, so a 
reference to it in the see also section would have saved me a lot of 
time.

This bug has been fixed in the documentation's XML sources. Since the
online and downloadable versions of the documentation need some time
to get updated, we would like to ask you to be a bit patient.
