Description:
------------
The "contents" sidebar of new php_manual_ru.chm (5 Dec 2008) is encoded in UTF-8, but shown in WINDOWS-1251, so contents, search and other sidebar tabs output russian letters as unreadable hieroglyphs.

Manual's content itself is correct, only "sidebar" looks ugly.

Have tested the .chm in Win98 (ru) and WinXP SP2 (ru) with the same result.

php_manual_ru.chm (build of 26 Dec 2008) - same problem
[2009-01-01 10:39 UTC] erema at blew dot ru
It seams that the contents of sidebar is always shown in system's default encoding (the russian one is windows-1251 on MS Windows). Not sure, maybe its just a simple typo in a template, maybe its a feature of MS CHM Viewer.

I'll look into it once I get access to the windows box again.
 [2009-01-10 16:44 UTC] kalle@php.net
I can confirm it under Windows Vista, however not translated elements work fine
[2009-01-11 19:03 UTC] erema at blew dot ru
translated works fine too, just unreadable due to a problem with encodings (and "search" function of the chm finds nothing with russian queries)

new build (10 jan 2009) - no changes

Have a same problem in php_manual_ru.chm (13 Feb 2009 build) at Windows XP2 Rus!
:(

This is probably fixed now..
Please verify that the CHM (dated *after* this note) does not have this issue anymore.

Yes, its fixed! Huray! Thanks!

Little bug still here: "index" tab shows windows-1251 letters in some other encoding, probably windows-1252.

Confirm here, on kchmviewer in kubuntu. Contents now okay, but words index is broken.

"contents" is ok for now, but "index" tab is in wrong encoding ( screenshot: http://d.pr/i/RvVu ), and "search" doesn't search queries in russian
