When I try to install the 5.2.7 version using the msi version the installation fails with the message: "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A script required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor".

Installing without Apache support all works fine. 

Downloading the zip version and copying php5apache2_2.dll into php dir and manually modifying apache configuration files permit to use the new version. But I think it isn't the optimal procedure! :)

I have the same problem
my system:

@2008.12.005
Windows 2008 Server x64
PHP version 5.2.6
Apache: 2.2.10
MySQL: Community Server latest version

Resolution at the moment: go back to version 5.2.6 windows installer, 
still works as before.

Question: "copying php5apache2_2.dll into php dir" its the ONLY 
change? or we have to do more things?

This bug has been fixed in CVS.

Snapshots of the sources are packaged every three hours; this change
will be in the next snapshot. You can grab the snapshot at
http://snaps.php.net/.
