Description:
------------
for windows you have to compile your own binaries to get the function ftp_ssl_connect. That's the text in the documentation.
In my case I couldn't get it either on a linux server.
The Administrator said, it's because it wasn't compiled with openssl.
(the extension openssl.so was loaded properly).
So we compiled our own version and started it via console. It works.
suggested text:
The function "ftp_ssl_connect" is just available, if you have compiled your PHP with openssl

Reproduce code:
---------------
ftp_ssl_connect(....);

Expected result:
----------------
build connection

Actual result:
--------------
function doesnt exist

It's clearly stated in the documentation: "ftp_ssl_connect() is only available if OpenSSL support is enabled into your version of PHP."

Yes it was enabled,
- my php-info said, that openssl is ENABLED -
but we couldnt - even then - use the function.

Php worked as CGI on server "Linux version 2.4.34.1-grsec (root@imageneu) (gcc version 3.3.5-20050130 (Gentoo 3.3.5.20050130-r1, ssp-3.3.5.20050130-1, pie-8.7.7.1)) #15 SMP Mon Jul 28 14:28:51 CEST 2008"

But we had to enable it in the configuration at the compilation!
Perhaps you meant that.

This bug has been fixed in the documentation's XML sources. Since the
online and downloadable versions of the documentation need some time
to get updated, we would like to ask you to be a bit patient.

Thank you for the report, and for helping us make our documentation better.

Thats because the openssl module and the ftp module has to be built staticlly, not as shared modules and the openssl is never built as a static module in the official Windows distros.

I've reworded the note to say that.

Yes I will be patient and polite :)
