this is a repost of bug: http://bugs.php.net/bug.php?id=38476

i'm using 5.2.6 with lightty and have done all the suggested setting and _SERVER["PATH_INFO"] is still NULL

compile:

./configure --prefix=/usr/local/php --enable-fastcgi --enable-discard-path --enable-force-cgi-redirect --with-zlib --with-config-file-path=/etc --with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql

php.ini:

cgi.fix_pathinfo = 1

i search and search for hours and path_info is still has "no value" in phpinfo()


Reproduce code:
---------------
echo $SERVER['PATH_INFO'];
--> null

This is a server-issue. Such things are not set by PHP itself, but rather retrieved from Apache/Lightppd/lightty/etc.
