when I attempt to 
do something like
$command="prog arg1 arg2 arg3";
<?php $output=@system(EscapeShellCmd($command),$ret_val);?>

only the first letter of arg1 is actually sent to the program.
I have printed the  $command before and after and the string is correct.

I am running this under safe mode if that makes a difference
