Bug #44160 Windows Scheduled Task Hangs when using php-win.exe
Submitted: 2008-02-18 19:45 UTC Modified: 2009-09-21 20:08 UTC

PHP Version: 5.2.5 OS: Windows Server 2003
Private report: No CVE-ID: None

Description:
------------
I run a Windows Server 2003 Scheduled Task job every 5 minutes using php-win.exe . The php-win.exe process hangs after it runs the script.

My script simply pings another host.

In order to rule-out my code, I place the following in my script:
<?php

ini_set('error_log','error.txt');
error_log('Info: Begin '.date('Y-m-d g:i:sa'));
set_time_limit(180);
error_reporting(E_ALL | E_STRICT);

...<other code>

error_log('Info: End   '.date('Y-m-d g:i:sa'));
?>

The script gets to the last statement "...Info: End" and prints, however, the php-win.exe process does not end. This blocks the Windows Scheduled Task from running again in 5 minutes. My script runs < 1 sec.

In addtion, notice the set_time_limit call? This is not executing after 180 seconds.

Actual result:
--------------
php-win.exe seems to be hanging or not ending properly. N
