Status: Closed Package: Documentation problem
PHP Version: Irrelevant OS: N/A
Private report: No CVE-ID: None
[2008-01-09 14:36 UTC] twk at nonn-et-twk dot net
Description:
------------
In the windows chm help file, you can use Keyword Index tab to look for the function. I thought all of the function names should be listed in it, but neither of 'json_encode' or 'json_decode' are not found in the index.
These function reference pages are found at "LXXIII. JSON Functions" of "Part VI. Function Reference".
The problem reproduced in both of English and Japanese chm file.

Reproduce code:
---------------
1. Download HTML Help file (chm) from http://www.php.net/download-docs.php
2. Open the downloaded windows help file
3. Move to the keyword index tab
4. Type 'j' to look for 'json_encode' and 'json_decode'.

Expected result:
----------------
'json_decode' and 'json_encode' should be listed between 'jpeg2wbmp' and 'JulianToJD'

Actual result:
--------------
The next entry of 'jpeg2wbmp' was 'JulianToJD'.

I've noticed most functions introduced since 5.1.0 and 5.2.0 are not found in the keyword list.

Such as
a lot of date/time functions like date_create and date_date_set, DOMDocumentFragment->appendXML(),
fbsql_row_fetched
fbsql_set_characterset
imageconvolution
mysqli_embedded_server_end
mysqli_embedded_server_start
mysqli_get_charset
mysqli_get_warnings
mysqli_stmt_get_warnings
tidy_get_opt_doc
and so on.

You can look for such function names by searching with "PHP 5 >= 5.1.0" and "PHP 5 >= 5.2.0".

Rudy: This is probably fixed in the new CHM?

This bug has been fixed in the documentation's XML sources. Since the
online and downloadable versions of the documentation need some time
to get updated, we would like to ask you to be a bit patient.

Thank you for the report, and for helping us make our documentation better.

in PhD's CHM, all functions (eg json_encode) now appears in the keyword index tab.
