Would be nice if DateTime had some sort of differences functions.

Something that could get around the 2038 issue of this:

$diffTime = strtotime($endDateString) - strtotime($startDateString)

may be something like this:

$endDateString = new DateTime("@$X");

$diffTime = $endDateString->difference("@$Y");
