Description:
------------
VERSION is 5.2.0-8etch1 distributed with debian 4.0!

After switching in php.ini to

  register_long_arrays = off

not still the HTTP_*_VARS vanished, but also the $_SERVER disappeared

Reproduce code:
---------------
switch off in ini register_long_arrays

Use either

  <?php   ### get_globals.php ###

     echo "<pre>\n";
     print_r($GLOBALS);
     echo "<pre>\n";

  ?>

or

  <?php   ### get_globals.php ###

     echo "<pre>\n";
     print_r($GLOBALS);
     print_r($_SERVER);
     echo "<pre>\n";

   ?>

The different behavior seams mystical.
