Bug #37804 cannot add note to a php.net page
Submitted: 2006-06-14 15:30 UTC Modified: 2006-06-14 16:01 UTC
From: jas at uci dot edu Assigned:
Status: Not a bug Package: Website problem
PHP Version: Irrelevant OS: linux
Private report: No CVE-ID: None

Description:
------------
i cannot add a note to a php.net page. this has been for several days now. there doesn't seem to be any more information supplied by the web site (in the error message itself) that says that the webadmins are aware of it and working on it, and/or when it will expect to be fixed.

Reproduce code:
---------------
i go to http://www.php.net. in the search field in upper right, i search for function file_get_contents and hit enter. when i get to that page, i scroll down to the user-contributed notes below. i click on "+ add a note". on the page that follows, i put in my name and a comment and click on the "Add note" button. I get an error message that says:

"Due to some technical problems this service isn't currently working. Please try again later. Sorry for any inconvenience."

Expected result:
----------------
to be able to post my note. if error message does come up, to say at the least that the admins have been notified and are working on it, and supply a time when it is expected to be back up (error has been displaying for several days now, so i don't even know if the admins are aware of the problem -- the message does not say so -- and/or whether it is now intended to not be able to post notes anymore, indefinitely? some message giving more info would be helpful.

Actual result:
--------------
got error message
