Description:
------------
My System
Windows XP Professional SP2
MySql Version 4.1.7-nt with Greek Character Set And Collation
PHP Version 4.3.9
phpBB Version 2.x

All Works Fine

I tried to upgrade to PHP 5.1.2

and for each sql statment I got the error
SQL Error : 1271 Illegal mix of collations for operation ' IN '

I have downgrade back to php 4.3.9 and all works fine

If tried with the CVS Version 5.2.0-dev Build Date: Apr 30 2006 16:15:30 but the problem still exists

Is that a bug in PHP ?

Reproduce code:
---------------
any sql statment with text field and greek_general_ci

Expected result:
----------------
to work after the upgrade

Thank you for this bug report. To properly diagnose the problem, we
need a short but complete example script to be able to reproduce
this bug ourselves.

A proper reproducing script starts with <?php and ends with ?>,
is max. 10-20 lines long and does not require any external
resources such as databases, etc.

If possible, make the script source available online and provide
an URL to it here. Try to avoid embedding huge scripts into the report.
