Description:
------------
When compiling PHP 5.1.2 from the .gz source, with the --enable-gd and --with-jpeg-dir directives correctly set in the ./configure command, PHP does not install jpeg support into the GD library. It does not throw any errors, in fact, it says it properly locates the jpeg6 headers, but running a phpinfo() command shows GD installed but no JPEG support, and functions such as imagecreatefromjpeg do not work.
I redownloaded the source, but this time chose the .bz2 version, and installation went successful and the JPEG support was installed correctly.
