Some of our readers of dealmac.com and dealchat.com are reporting the following error is showing up on their pages.

Warning: client used wrong authentication scheme (DPA) in - on line 1

I have tracked this down to post.c in the PHP source. It appears that PHP is checking for the authentication type that the browser is sending. There is no authentication being done by my pages. I think this is over my head.

The offending browser to this point has been IE 4.51 on Mac. Although, I know of users with this browser that are not having any problems.

Thanks,

Brian Moon

We are sorry, but can not support PHP 3 related problems anymore. Momentum is
gathering for PHP 5, and we think supporting PHP 3 will lead to a waste of
resources which we want to put into getting PHP 5 ready. Ofcourse PHP 4 will
will continue to be supported for the forseeable future.

both the php and the browser versions are outdated
and i haven't heard of anything similar (and we have
quite some Mac PHP developers around in the company),
so i feel free enough to just close this one

Geez, this should have been closed long ago. We left PHP3 and BSD a long, long time ago.
