When I use Assert(), Apache freeze.
In PHP 5.0.5 this is OK on the same computer and IS

Reproduce code:
---------------
<?
$id = 1;
assert('is_numeric($id); // $id must be number');
?>

Expected result:
----------------
apache.exe process 100% load CPU time

Please do not submit the same bug more than once. An existing
bug report already describes this very problem. Even if you feel
that your issue is somewhat different, the resolution is likely
to be the same.

I'm sorry. I searched for bugs with assert(). I can't know all bugs and its possible reason.

Btw, it has been fixed in CVS couple of minutes ago.
