Bug #35311 No details on how to add comments to bug reports

Description:
------------
The http://bugs.php.net/ page says to search for your bug report first. I did, and found the bug I am experiencing (#17904). I want to add a comment, as I have some relevant information, but it's asking for a password.

Expected result:
----------------
As I don't have a password, I would expect there to be some information or instructions available to tell me how to obtain such a password.

You should really make it easier for people to contribute useful notes to existing bug reports.

Actual result:
--------------
Wasted time. Spent a while trying to find more details, or a support e-mail address, and eventually ended up filing it as a bug (here).

I don't see the 'Add Comment' tab asking for a password, only the 'Edit submission' tab, which is obviously for the submitter.

Where does our system ask for a password?

I only see 'View/Vote', 'Developer' and 'Edit submission' tab for that bug. No 'Add comment' tab.

It asks for a password if I try to submit my comment using the 'New comment' textarea, there is a bit that asks for a password.

Erm - now I see it :) There's a link that says 'how to add a comment', which takes me further. Sorry about that. Closing this ticket.

Sorry - now I'm getting the following error:

You can not add comments for bugs with the statuses:Closed, Duplicate, Wont fix, Bogus, Stale

It's been closed as 'Bogus', but I would strongly disagree and my comment contained details of why I would urge that it be re-opened.

BTW, when using the 'Edit Submission' form, it seems to clear the Summary for you, and when you submit it tells you the summary is missing (so you have to type it back in). Worth a seperate bug report?

Thanks :)

Yep. You need to submit these as separate reports.
