I'm trying to import some data from access to mysql. But i can't read crotian characters from access file. When i opened the mdb file access shows the chars correctly but php can't read them.

Reproduce code:

$db = 'c:\\file.mdb';
$conn = new COM('ADODB.Connection');
$conn->Open("Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0; Data Source=$db");
$rs = $conn->Execute("select * from test");
while (!$rs->EOF):
 echo $rs->Fields['comment']->Value;
 $rs->MoveNext();
endwhile;

Expected result:
----------------
Display the crotian characters.

Actual result:
--------------
Displays the english chars.
