Description:
------------
(Apologies if this is a duplicate -- I thought I posted this bug a few minutes ago, but then couldn't retrieve it to edit it, so I presume it got lost rather than stored)

I can download the Win binary distribution, but not the source distribution. I've tried using the latest Opera release and the latest Firefox release (I don't use IE), tried from multiple mirrors here and abroad, and tried to trick it in various ways. (This is a problem I've had with earlier distributions as well.)

The pattern is the same with both browsers: the browser cannot determine the file size, and 'spins its wheels', allegedly slurping many MB at a rate far in excess of my ADSL connect's actual bandwidth. If I let it run to what it thinks is completion, the gzip archive is unreadable.

Is this on any specific mirror?

No, the problem was the same no matter which mirror I tried. I seem to remember working my way thru the US and Canadian mirrors plus one German one, but I might not be remembering correctly--I tried to pick the closest ones, anyway.

Works fine for me with firefox. There's something wrong with your connection or something else but not with php.net.

I don't think that can be true, since if it were my connection, I shouldn't be able to get the binaries either. But I can get those fine. I can also download other files from other sites without problems. The only problems I have are with those source gzips from the PHP mirrors. Both the problems getting the source distrib and the lack of problems getting the binary distrib are completely repeatable.

Please try to use a download manager. Browsers tend to unzip gzipped content on the fly, and this might lead to what you experience.
