This is relevant to PHP 5.0.4, although that could not be  
selected from the bug-reporting version dropdown.  
  
Executing "make install" fails to install PEAR.  
Here's a snippit of the output:  
Installing PEAR environment:      /tmp/foo/lib/php/  
  [PEAR] Archive_Tar    - already installed: 1.1  
  [PEAR] Console_Getopt - already installed: 1.2  
  [PEAR] PEAR: file does not exist  
  [PEAR] HTML_Template_IT- already installed: 1.1  
  [PEAR] Net_UserAgent_Detect- already installed: 2.0.1  
  [PEAR] XML_RPC        - already installed: 1.2.2  
 
The directory /tmp/foo/lib/php/PEAR is missing all of the 
normal PEAR files. 

Reproduce code:
---------------
./configure --prefix=/tmp/foo
make && make install

Expected result:
----------------
Normally ${INSTALL_ROOT}/lib/php/PEAR/ contains a variety 
of .php files, and ${INSTALL_ROOT}/lib/php/PEAR.php 
exists.  But in this case, none of the PEAR files are 
installed.

Please do not submit the same bug more than once. An existing
bug report already describes this very problem. Even if you feel
that your issue is somewhat different, the resolution is likely
to be the same.
