PHP Version: 5.0.3 OS: Linux
Private report: No CVE-ID: None

Description:
------------
The procedure described in section "Compiling PECL extensions statically into PHP" in INSTALL and in PHP manual is incorrect. Instead of running:

$ cd /your/phpsrcdir
$ ./buildconf
$ ./configure --help
$ ./configure --with-extname --enable-someotherext --with-foobar
$ make
$ make install

One should run "with autoconf 2.13":

$ cd /your/phpsrcdir
$ rm -f ./configure
$ ./buildconf --force
$ ./configure --help
$ ./configure --with-extname --enable-someotherext --with-foobar
$ make
$ make install

The "with autoconf 2.13" should be mentioned in the document, too.

This bug has been fixed in the documentation's XML sources. Since the
online and downloadable versions of the documentation need some time
to get updated, we would like to ask you to be a bit patient.

Thank you for the report, and for helping us make our documentation better.
