Description:
------------
Using PHP 5.0.3 and trying to install it as shared module with Apache 2.0.52.

When running configure with --with-apxs2 flag "make" gives the error

ext/libxml/libxml.lo: file not recognized: File truncated
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [libphp5.la] Error 1

This does not occure when PHP is a static module or not using Apache 2.x

I have libxml installed but PHP does not seem to "recognize it", as it says in the error. I tried to run configure with the --disable-xml along with the --disable-pear but that made no difference.

I have posted a thread at LinuxQuestions about this at
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/showthread.php?s=&postid=1449341

Reproduce code:
---------------
$ ./configure --with-apxs2=/usr/local/apache2/bin/apxs --with-mysql=/usr/local/mysql --disable-cgi
$ make

Expected result:
----------------
A compiled source

Actual result:
--------------
ext/libxml/libxml.lo: file not recognized: File truncated
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [libphp5.la] Error 1
