Description:

An numeric string between -1 and 0 and without a leading zero can't be converted correctly while php 4.2.2 can.

Reproduce code:
---------------
<?php
print "1"+"-.1";
$a="1";
$b="-.1";
print "\n";
print $a+$b;
?>

Expected result:
----------------
-0.9
-0.9

Actual result:
--------------
1
1

Please do not submit the same bug more than once. An existing
bug report already describes this very problem. Even if you feel
that your issue is somewhat different, the resolution is likely
to be the same.

Please do not reopen it, as it is duplicate. And the other bug you refer to is "assigned", which means not fixed.
