The following line I would expect to produce a parse error since the third argument of the ereg function is not a variable. ereg("^(ONE|TWO)[ ]+(THREE FOUR)$","ONE FOUR",argreg); Instead the scripting engine bombs out with no output before producing any output that should have been before it. This suggests that the error is occuring during the parse phase. I haven't included a backtrace since your instructions on howto do so was a missing page. "Not Found The requested URL /version4/bugs-generating-backtrace.php3 was not found on this server." Thanks Richard
