I check the bug database and I see that my problem could be the same of Bug #21676.

Sometimes Getimagesize doesn't work with external image doesn't return size, type etc ... and freeze the code until the timeout of the web server.

In many cases the image was a png file.







Reproduce code:

$size = getimagesize("http://www.mysql.com/images/mysql.png");
print_r($size); echo "\n";

Expected result:
----------------
Array ( [0] => 81 [1] => 43 [2] => 3 [3] => width="81" height="43" [bits] => 8 [mime] => image/png ) 

Actual result:
--------------
Nothing.
