Command line is :

./configure --with-apache=../apache_1.3.28 --with-informix --without-mysql

(Informix version is 7.22)

and :

make

Undefined                       first referenced
 symbol                             in file

Get latest informix libs. Works fine for me.
(I do use Linux, maybe you should upgrade too?)
