I would like to request a new feature. Is it possible to tie in agrep (ftp://ftp.cs.arizona.edu/agrep/) into a PHP function to give everyone the ability to do "fuzzy grep" searches for various things? I think that would be a great help for people, and would help me greatly in a future project.

Tom

Please considering reading the documentation on how to submit a proper bug/feature request (available from the bugs.php.net homepage). The title you provided 'New feature' could not possibly be less descriptive when placed in a category which is itself called 'Feature Requests'.

That said, the package pointed to includes no indication of licenses or permissions of use. Further it is packaged as a standalone program and not as a library. If you'd care to do some footwork with the author resolving these points you can speed along the process of having this type of functionality included.

This seems more to me that something PCRE can handle easily but there have not really been any interest from any core developers or contributors to make a patch for something like this, so I'm gonna close this report
