I had just install a web server.
all configuration is default.
but the track_vars is off. I can't transfer any form value to another web page.

for example:

this is t.php
<html>
<head>
<title>t</title>
</head><bod>
<form name="test" action=test.php method=post>
name: <input type=text name="guest"><br>
<input type=submit>
</form>
</body>
</html>

this is test.php
<?php
echo $guest;
echo "1111";
?>

when I input something in the textbox and then click "submit", it only display 1111, nothing else;

why?

In PHP 4.2.0, the 'register_globals' setting default changed to
'off'. See http://www.php.net/release_4_2_0.php for more info.
We are sorry about the inconvenience, but this change was a necessary
part of our efforts to make PHP scripting more secure and portable.
