after i install Red Hat Linux 8.0 , and i make a test page to see if the php works, but it load the <? phpinfo() ?> page to blank, then i try some other php scripts, it works, but not so correctly

that's why we ask you to add your php.ini settings in
http://bugs.php.net/how-to-report.php

might be short tags being disabled, but thats hard
to say without further clues
